The Summer is over.
The Fall is here.
The wind is blowing cold.
The fluttering leaves that fall from the trees
Are turning from green to gold.
I learned this song from my Kindergartener teacher years ago. I can still remember how excited I became as a child when fall arrived. The leaves changed color, pumpkin flavored sweets appeared in grocery stores, and cozy family gatherings were around the corner.
Today, I feel the same about the Fall season, and after going through many trials throughout my life, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness during this time of change. No matter what we are facing, whether it is a loss of a loved one or friend(s), a significant change in our roles/responsibilities, or unexpected news we hear, God remains who He says He is in His Word (Psalm 46:1).
In less than twelve weeks, I will be due to give birth to a precious baby for the first time. Am I excited? Yes! Am I nervous? Of course. What will it look like to be a mom to a tiny baby boy? I don’t know. I simply pray for Jesus to fill my husband and me with His Love for him.
I am certain that this upcoming change will look different than our past, just as the leaves are changing color this season but God, I trust, is always at work to reveal Himself as He sees fit for His glory in our lives.
Regardless of what changes you are experiencing in your life at this time, I pray that you will trust in Jesus–the Great I AM to be your all in all. He is faithful and His Love is steadfast. The One who changes times and seasons Himself (Daniel 2:21) knows what we need now, and for what is to come.
