Dear Sonrise Families,
It's easy to find things to complain about - it's too hot, prices are high, the day is long. But I've been reminding myself to pause before voicing these complaints. While I may grumble about the heat, I know there are families in Florida today who are recovering from Hurricane Milton.
I work on teaching my boys to appreciate the little things; the shoes on their feet and the food packed in their lunches. As I strive to speak more words of gratitude instead of complaints, I realize that my words reflect in theirs. It's not only my responsibility to raise these little boys into strong Godly men but also to show them what it means to be a child of God who is grateful, even in the hard times.
When they begin to complain and argue with each other, I like to remind them about Paul. How Paul guided the people to be more like Jesus so that they can find happiness even through the hard times. We are reminded that even during the times of the Bible, people struggled with complaining about their situations rather than celebrating their blessings.
Whatever your current season of life may be, let's remember to be more like Paul. Although what Paul faced may have been different than what you and I face daily, his emotions and thoughts that he struggled with were probably just as the same. I pray you're reminded of the blessings that surround you today and enjoy a beautiful weekend filled with gratitude.
Ms. Val
