Harvest

Fall is my favorite season and Harvest is part of that; it is a time to reflect and be thankful. The season changes from Summer to Fall and that means shorter days and cooler weather. I love seeing the leaves change colors and I’m reminded of my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. A time to gather and share why we are thankful.

This week, Christians celebrate Harvest by keeping their focus on God. Before I trusted Jesus as my Savior this was not the case. The focus was going door to door, and getting as much candy as possible while wearing a costume. I am happy to say that God revealed I am not perfect. For I have sinned and I need a Savior!  I am thankful I work at a school that allows me to keep my focus on God.

Our Harvest Celebration in preschool will be focused on God’s creation. Preschoolers will be encouraged to dress in costumes that reflect God’s creation or Bible story characters.

Celebrating Harvest means being thankful for the Harvest (our crops, our food) and because God blesses us with His provision. The bigger picture about Harvest is found in the Bible, where Jesus says to His disciples, “the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few,” Matthew 9:37.

My prayer this week is for God to give me and to those that know him, opportunities to share the Gospel. To share the good news that Jesus loves you, died on the cross for you, and is preparing a place in heaven for you.
